Serendipity 3 in Las Vegas Rocks!

Living in S. Cal, a perfect weekend getaway is Las Vegas.  It's not too far to drive but far enough that you feel as though you are taking a break from life.  From S. Cal, the drive to Vegas is anywhere from 4-6 hours depending on how often you stop on the way out or traffic.  Friday drives through the desert gets pretty crowded because everyone has the same idea as you.  They have a desire to getaway but not too far away.

When my husband and I visit Vegas, it's all about the food.  The food here is AMAZING!  There are so many unique and delicious restaurants especially on the main Las Vegas Strip.  Many famous chefs from all around the world have their restaurant here.  Bobby Flay has his Mesa Grill.  Emeril Lagasse has his Lagasse Stadium.  And the most recent addition to the wonderful celebrity chef line up in the city of lights is Gordon Ramsey's Steak.  Because of the name that's attached to these restaurants, the bill will be quite pricey.  Just FYI.

Aside from the big name restaurants, there are so, so many other smaller eats places including awesome dessert locations. One of the places that I love going to when I'm in Vegas is Serendipity 3.  I've always wanted to have a place that's a MUST VISIT eatery when I visit different cities.  This place is just that for me if I'm in Vegas.  Serendipity is located on the outside area of Caesars Palace.  The definition of serendipity is a "happy accident" or "pleasure surprise."  This restaurant will be just that for you!

The first Serendipity opened up in New York in 1954 (their history is very interesting...read it!).  All together, there are 4 restaurant locations with the one in Vegas being the only one in the West Coast.  The decor is super cute and trendy.  The different items on their menu will be a sure hit with whoever you are traveling with.  They have hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta, salads, sandwiches and of course, what they are known for...their desserts!  Just a warning, often times, eating your main dish and having dessert is almost impossible (I throw in the word "almost" because there's always room for dessert, right?).

This day, my husband and I decided to share and entree just so we would have room for dessert.  We ordered the Foot Long Hot Dog with chili and onions.  Oh My Goodness...it was HUGE but oh so good.   The cost of this hot dog is $8.50.

Then for dessert we had to try what their really known for, their signature dessert, the Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (the spelling is not a typo).  I know this sounds a bit like a oxymoron but it's exactly what it is, a frozen hot chocolate.  Basically, it's hot chocolate blended with ice making it a slush.  This was HUGE too!  I dont' think we even had a chance to finish it.  But it was very good.  It tasted exactly like frozen hot chocolate and may not seem that special but it's definitely refreshing and worth a try, atleast once.  This was $8.95.  If you are in the mood, they do have different flavored Frrrozen Hot Chocolate like peanut butter and pineapple lime.
