In-N-Out, In-N-Out, That's What a Hamburgers All About!

Living in Southern California, we are spoiled by having many different fast food chains around us.   There are some chains that are so well known around the nation that when they visit California, it is part of the tourist stop.  One of those locations is In-N-Out.  In-N-Out is a hamburger fast food chain that literally only sells, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fries, shakes and sodas.  That's it and they are so busy.  If you go during peak food times, there is always a line inside and out of this restaurant.  I personally enjoy food from In-N-Out.  My regular is a #2 which is a single cheeseburger animal style, which means that they chop up the onions and grill is melted into the cheese.  The insides of the hamburger are quite simple as well.  It consists of thousand Island dressing, tomatoes, onions, pickles, lettuce, meat, cheese (optional) and the bun.  Their fries are not crispy like the ones you would have at other fast food chains but are real potatoes just deep fried subtly.  I enjoy their fries as well.  Though my husband and I like their food very much, there are those few that do not like it like my sister in law.  She can't even stand the smell of In-N-Out food.  She's not a real burger gal anyway.

The inside of this fast food place is really clean as well.  The color scheme inside is red and white.  All the staff wear the same uniform with a giant clothes pin holding their apron up.  It is open fairly until late night and is a popular place for the youth to grab a bite to eat.

In-N-Out first opened up in Baldwin Park, California in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder.  It was the very first drive thru fast food chain ever!  One thing that is pretty awesome about In-N-Out is if you look really closely under your cup or on the wrapper of your hamburger, it has different bible verses printed on it.  This tradition started in the 1980's when Harry Snyder's son, Rich, took over the company.  Rich wanted to share his Christian beliefs with those who ate at his shop.  Some scriptures are John 3:16, Revelation 3:20, Proverbs 3:5 and 1 Corinthians 13:13.

Another cool thing about In-N-Out is their merchandise.  For those fans of In-N-Out, they sell t-shirts, license plate frames and stickers.  Next time you're in California, head to the hamburger stand that has a huge line out the door.  You will leave with a full stomach and some encouragement from the bible scriptures!  P.S. In the last couple of years, In-N-Out has branched out to Utah and Texas!  Your state may be next!
