Universal Studios HOLLYWOOD!! Part 1

I love theme parks! The atmosphere, the rides, the shows, the parades and of course, the food! Though I'm not a huge fan of lines, I do enjoy people watching so it makes it somewhat fun. But because of the cost of admission being so high these days, its very rare that I visit any. I don't know how my parents even afforded our entire family going when we I was younger. I realize costs were not as high, still, there was 5 of us and we went quite a bit. Where I live, within an hours worth of driving time, we have Disneyland, Disney California Adventures, Magic Mountain, Knotts Berry Farm and Universal Studios Hollywood. It's great...so many options!

So when my sister and her husband got a annual pass to Universal Studios recently and offered us a "free guest pass," my husband and I were very excited to accept the offer. We were on our way and after a day of a few sprinkles and sun, all I can say was, it was SO much fun! If you have not been to Universal Studios Hollywood lately, you must go. The theme park was beautifully decorated for Christmas with even some real snow. They have new rides, new shows and new places to eat. It's a lot and there is a lot more activities for children.

The tram ride has been updated and is pretty awesome. Jimmy Fallon also assists with the tram narration and is hilarious. It's always cool to see props from movies and shows in person as well.

Because this is my food blog, rather than photos of the them park, of course, we'll focus on the food! For lunch, we ate at the International Cafe near the Animal Actors Stage show. Their menu is mainly sandwiches and soup. Though theme park food is sometimes known to be expensive, I didn't think this place was too bad. Here's some highlights!

There are many outdoor patio tables and chairs around the restaurant as well as an indoor seating area.

Beautiful Christmas decor

Today's menu displayed outside

A variety of drinks for choose from rather than the typical soda sold at theme parks

The potato chip cart. Chips can be purchased with your sandwich.

Nice menu and many items to choose from

Salads, fruit and many sandwiches

Don't forget to grab some dessert!

I had to purchase the macaroons (99cents each). I think they have about 6 different flavors. We got chocolate and raspberry.

I personally preferred the raspberry. It was SO good!

Lunch was a turkey sandwich with some pesto ailoli sauce and cheese as well as clam chowder. The sandwich was quite large so my husband and I split one. Both were very delicious!

There is more to come on our adventure at Universal Studios Hollywood. Stay tuned for Part 2.
