Strawberry Twins

Prime strawberry season is from late May to late June. This may vary depending on what part of the country you live in. How do I know this fact? I went on a mini anniversary getaway some years ago with my husband and visited a strawberry field in Carlsbard, CA (http://www.theflowerfields.com/). It was so amazing! They allow you to pick strawberries, take you on a tractor ride through the fields and to top it off, sell strawberry shortcakes with fresh strawberries picked from their fields with a side of a whole lotta whip cream! YUM! During the other seasons, they have beautiful flowers on display and even a pumpkin patch during October. There is a minimal admission fee to get in but it's so worth it.

So back to strawberries, this summer, I purchased some from a local grocery store and upon opening the plastic container, saw something so unique, I knew had to blog about it.

Have you seen anything like this before? Maybe you have, but I have not. If you can't tell by the photo, it was two strawberries attached at the stem. I almost didn't want to eat it because it seemed so special. But of course at the end, I couldn't let it just rot away. Just so you know...it was doubl-y delicious!
