My Favorite Food Movies!

I love movies. I don't watch enough of them but the movies I particularly like are those that have twists. The director leads you into thinking one way but at the end...the story takes you on a completely different path. Gets my adrenaline going just typing this!

But aside from movie with twists, you can never go wrong with movies that involve and are about food. Though there have been many movies made revolving around food, here are two of my favorite food movies.

Julia and Juliet

Released in 2009, this movie is a great, fun movie starring Meryl Streep who plays Julia Child, the ever so famous chef and Amy Adams who plays Julie Powell, a real food blogger. The movie highlights each ladies unique life as well as their struggles and with some food and spice, how one's life can really change. I don't want to give away the entire story for those who have not seen it yet but if you love food and want to peek into the lives of two amazing ladies, you must rent this!

Ratatouille

Ratatouille = A traditional French stewed vegetable dish usually served as a side dish
Ratatouille = A very well made animated movie that revolves around food but also has many great life lessons

Released in 2007 by Disney Pixar, Ratatouille allows you to take a journey into a life of a rat. It touches on friendship, staying true to who you and never giving up, just to name a few. The animation is very vibrant and colorful. There are some kitchen scenes where you can almost smell the food that is being prepared! The story takes place mainly in Paris so if you have been to Paris, be on the look out for some familiar landmarks. By the end of the movie, you really fall in love the the main characters, Remi, the rat and Linguini, the chef. I think I can watch this movie over and over without getting tired of it. Trust me, food lovers, rent this!
